5 Quotes to Inspire Organization

The thought of getting organized, in any avenue of life can sometimes feel overwhelming. Sometimes we get so overwhelmed, we aren't even sure where to begin. How can we get motivated?

What we all need is inspiration....a stern talking to.....a serious pep talk? I collected 5 quotes that are guaranteed to get you in the mood to turn your clutter and chaos into order and efficiency.

1. For every minute spent organizing, an hour is earned. ~ Benjamin Franklin

Sometimes we are probably too aware that time is of the essence. There’s no way to add hours to the day, but with a little prioritizing and organization, we can save time for later. For example, taking the time to organize this week will save  countless hours in the weeks to come.

2. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. ~ Leonardo da Vinci

Ok, so I could find no hard evidence that Leonardo da Vinci actually said this.....However, here we go. When we think of something sophisticated what comes to mind? Bright, Clean, Fresh, Organized....those are just a few words that pop into my head.

Coco Chanel once said, “Before leaving the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory.” This advice can be applied to literally EVERYTHING. Nuff said.

3. Organize your life around your dreams, and watch them come true. ~ Author Unknown

No truer words have been said. At home, tossing or donating the things we don’t use is a weight off my shoulders. Utilizing smart organizational tools helps keep things neat and tidy and always ready to be used.

Keep your goals in mind and always work towards them. Some days it may be a little but others will be a game changer in reaching that milestone.

4. Clutter is nothing more than postponed decisions. ~ Barbara Hemphill

This resonates with me so much.

How many times have you been rushing through your day and thought "oh, I'll take care of that later" With constant mental exertion, it’s easy to procrastinate some tasks, such as putting things in the right spot or tidying up a small area immediately. It helps to acknowledge that a split-second decision will save me more time than no decision at all. Using a simple organization system gives us all control on the crazy days.

5. Organizing is a journey, not a destination. ~ Author Unknown

No doubt about it. Even if I got 100% organized today, tomorrow is a new day! Kind of like exercise, organization is something that needs to be done each day to bring positive results. You don’t need to have everything pristine all the time…but it helps to take just a few minutes and put everything that has a home back in its proper place before moving on to something.

If we can learn from these organizational quotes, slowly work them into our life and make them our habits one by one. Sooner than you think you’ll become a lot more organized!
